About

Services and interventions are individualized through a process of assessment, intervention planning, and routine reflection that feeds the refinement and improvement of the on-going consultation process.

For almost 30 years I have worked with thousands of physicians, physicians-in-training and other health care providers. This work includes mental health services, career development, and academic support services including preparation for the USMLE Steps, specialty and sub-specialty boards.

My undergraduate and graduate education was completed at the University of Virginia. My internship was at Wake Forest University’s  Psychological Services Center. As an original member of the multidisciplinary team that launched the Wake Forest Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, we aided the development of cardiac rehab programs across North Carolina. I taught counseling and psychology at James Madison University, Northern Illinois University and East Carolina University. I served as the executive director of the National Wellness Institute and as the assistant dean and director of the Brody School of Medicine’s Academic Support and Counseling Center.  I served as a liaison to the AAMC, NBME, and AAMC Careers in Medicine. I was awarded a grant and collaborated with NBME on the assessment of medical professionalism.

I look forward to you learning  how I might be helpful to you.

Sincerely,

David
